About Us

The Sapphires Rhythmic Gymnastics Club was established in 1993 as a non-profit, parent-run organization to provide rhythmic gymnastics training in an environment where all members are welcomed and accepted. We are looking forward to celebrating 30 years of providing rhythmic gymnastics training in Winnipeg!

Sapphires is proud to offer recreational classes, seasonal competitive programs, and coach-in-training opportunities for those athletes that want to coach. Our programs are currently offered in various schools in Winnipeg School Division, and our current offering of classes include options for ages 4 and up!

The Sapphires Rhythmic Gymnastics Club is a vibrant part of Winnipeg's rhythmic gymnastics community, which is governed by Rhythmic Gymnastics Manitoba (RGM).  As a registered member of RGM, all of our coaches are required to:

  • be a registered RGM member affiliated with a RGM club;

  • complete a Child Abuse Registry Check every three years;

  • have current First Aid/CPR certification; and

  • complete the Respect in Sport online course.

Beyond participating in recreational and competitive sport, the majority of our gymnasts grow up within the Sapphires family, and many continue to expand their life experience by joining our coaching program.  Many  pursue college and university, and Sapphires enjoys a high graduation rate of professionals;

we count teachers, sports therapists, dental assistants, and a doctor among our coaching staff!  The Sapphires is a life-long passion , and we are honoured that so many continue to share their time with us and inspire our gymnasts to be passionate about sport, rhythmic gymnastics, and LIFE!
